It was times like this, that everything felt like it became a balancing act. One day, it felt like it was taking endless hours for time to tick over while they waited for news, and the next, there wasn't enough hours in the day to see to everything. It was even more of a juggle now that Tim was awake. Jason wanted to be there for his friend like he promised, and he would do his best to keep his word, but at the same time, he had a family of his own that needed his time too. A loving, caring fiancee carrying his baby, who was still trying to work to make ends meet with Jason only managing to nab some casual hours coaching a kids' football team at a local yet small school. He was still looking for something more permanent that paid better, which is what he was seeing to right when Tim had fallen ill.
With Taylor working, and the shared vigil at the hospital amongst Tim's family and friends, Jason knew he had to spend whatever time they had together actually together. After getting some more info on epilepsy from the rehab unit at the hospital as planned, Jason left a message with the staff of the ICU to let Tim know he would be back a bit later and why. Tim was sleeping again, which wasn't a bad thing. His body was trying to heal and Jason remembered how much he had slept in the wake of his accident, from both sheer mental and physical exhaustion. As it was, right now, he was feeling a drained tiredness setting in all over again. Worry would do that to someone. He also knew he was desperately missing Taylor, the niggles between them after their failed wedding and the pregnancy news breaking seemed like a distant memory... and almost stupid. It was easier when they were on the same page, and he would do anything it took to make sure they stayed that way.
After being greeted at the door of their shared Austin home by Mrs MacKenzie who was spending a few days in Austin to help Taylor out, Jason wheeled himself tiredly to their bedroom, relieved to find his fiancee lying in be reading a book and resting on her day off like she promised him she would. "Hey, darlin'," he greeted her quietly with a smile as he pushed up to the side of the bed. He started to pull his jacket off, trying to get a glimpse of what she was reading. "Good book?"
